Maxx Crosby cleared up recent comments by Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce about stopping Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. The standout defender is ready to face off against the three-time Super Bowl champion next season and bring him down again.
Crosby explained that the Raiders plan to play the game the right way but won't make anything easy for Mahomes.
“If we wanna win, we gotta take him down. He knows I’m coming for him…it’s not malicious…we play the game the right way but we play with ill intent and we play violent…”

"People are sensitive these days. It's what happens. People have their own thoughts and take things out of context. He has multiple MVPs and Super Bowls. At the end of the day, if we wanna win, we gotta take him down. We're not shy about that," Crosby said. "Every time I'm playing him, every time I see him, I'm trying to ruin his day. ...He knows I’m coming for him, I'm on that energy every time and my teammates are as well. It’s not malicious. We play the game the right way but we play with ill intent and we play violent and fast and we plan on doing that for years to come."
When Pierce compared his strategy against Mahomes to the Detroit Pistons' ultra-physical "Jordan Rules" for Michael Jordan during the early 1990s, many people took those words the wrong way.

Crosby and Co. played terrific defense upon Pierce's appointment as interim head coach and they're not planning on stopping anytime soon. The Raiders have found an identity under their new leader and it's already worked against the Chiefs.
The Raiders hold the honor of being the last team to beat Kansas City before they went on an impressive run to win the Super Bowl LVIII.
The Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC West. After they won yet another Super Bowl, the rest of the NFL is ready to challenge them and do whatever it can to take down the reigning champions.
The Raiders have questions to answer this offseason, starting at the quarterback position. If they find the right guy, the AFC West will be a scary division with the Chiefs and the revamped Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers and Raiders.
