For the second time this season, the Blue Jays have had an organizational sweep.

On Sunday, all four the Blue Jays affiliates were in action, with the Buffalo Bisons, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Vancouver Canadians, and Dunedin Blue Jays all winning their games. Moreover, all four teams had at least eight runs scored.

Let’s dig into this edition of the Minor League Report.

Buffalo Bisons win big, like, really big

On Sunday, the Bisons defeated the Rochester Red Wings 17-0 to go to 8-6 for the season. In total, the team had 15 hits, with 10 walks compared to just six strikes outs. Every starter had at least one hit, with several players picking up multi-hit games. Spencer Horwitz went 3-3 with two walks and an RBI, Addison Barger went 2-4 with two RBI, Damiano Palmegiani and Rafael Lantigua also had multi-hit games.

Lantigua’s two hits were doubles, while Barger and Horwitz also picked up a double in the afternoon. Orelvis Martinez also hit his first home run of the season and picked up three runs. It’s been an odd year for Martinez, who has led the team in home runs each of the last three seasons.

Will Robertson is currently tied with Garrett Spain for the most home runs in the organization, as he has four of them in just 36 plate appearances. While he didn’t hit one on Sunday, he did walk four times while hitting a single.

Paxton Schultz started the game for the Jays and finished with a line of 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, with Troy Watson picking up the win, striking out two batters in an inning and two thirds of work. Luis Quiñones walked four batters in two innings, but didn’t give up a run, while Brendon Little struck out two and walked two in his inning and two thirds of work.

Hagen Danner finished with a line of 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats win a barn burner

On Sunday, the Fisher Cats hosted the Somerset Patriots in the final game of the series, defeating the New York affiliate 13-9.

The team hit four home runs in the game, as Alan Roden hit his first two home runs of the season, while Gabriel Martinez hit his second of the year, and Garrett Spain hit his fourth of the season to tie Will Robertson for the lead.

There were also a bunch of other extra-base hits, as Josh Kasevich, Spain, Andres Sosa , and Michael Turconi all hit doubles.Turconi was one of three batters with a multi-hit game, with Spain and Roden being the other two with multi-hit games.

Pitching wasn’t New Hampshire’s strong suit on Sunday though. CJ Van Eyk started the game and finished with a line of 3 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 K. Trent Palmer ate some innings as well and picked up the win, going 3.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K. Another bulk reliever in Hunter Gregory finished with a line of 0.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, giving up his first runs of the season.

Left-handed pitchers Ian Churchill and Jimmy Burnette finished the last two innings, with Churchill striking out a batter and Burnette walking one and striking out one.

With the win, the Fisher Cats move to 6-3 this season, second in the Eastern League Northeast Division.

It’s a Ryan McCarty Party in Vancouver

Vancouver started the season 0-3, but won five of six games against the Hillsboro Hops to bring their record to 5-4. However, it didn’t always look like that’d happen.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Canadians were down 7-3 with two outs, when Dylan Rock was hit by a pitch. The Hops had a chance to record an out, but had an error, before Arnaez was hit with a pitch as well. Dasan Brown hit a clutch single with the bases loaded, driving in two runs, before Ryan McCarty hit a two-run double to tie the game. Nick Goodwin singled in the game-winning run to complete a fantastic comeback.

Let’s talk about Ryan McCarty and his last six games. On Sunday, he was the only Canadian with a home run, as well as the only Canadian with a multi-hit game. This game alone, he had five RBIs, bringing his total up to 11 RBIs in the past six games, with the Canadians scoring just 28 runs in those games. Over those last six games, McCarty is slashing .458/.500/.917.

Jean Arnaez picked up the only other extra-base hit in this game, while Brown had a clutch single. Jace Bohrofen, Goodwin, and Jeffrey Wehler all had singles.

Dunedin can’t stop winning (and won’t stop)

On Sunday, the Dunedin Blue Jays once again defeated the Tampa Tarpons, bringing their record to 7-2, winning five of six against the New York Yankees affiliate. This time, they won big, defeating Tampa 11-4.

There were only two extra-base hits from D-Jays players, as Canadian Bryce Arnold hit a double in the top of the third to give Dunedin a 1-0 lead. Edward Duran also hit a double, his third of the season. Both Arnold and Duran had multi-hit games, with Manuel Beltre picking up the only other multi-hit game.

Still, most players that appeared in the game had at least one his, with Tucker Toman, Arjun Nimmala, Ricardo Balogh, Nicolas Deschamps, and Alexis Hernandez all picking up singles.

Landen Marudois made his first career start, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K. Diving deeper into his Statcast numbers, he maxed out at 95.2 mph with the fastball, but averaged 93.6 mph with it. The fourth-rounder only generated three whiffs on 28 total swings (11 whiff%). Not his best outing, but he got the job done.

Eliander Alcalde picked up the win, going 2.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K to bring his season ERA to 2.81, while Kai Peterson finished with a line of 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K. Felipe Bello was the final reliever used, and he pitched a clean inning with no strikeouts.
